Greene County district court, week ending Sept. 18

In Greene County district court Shauna Carrie Allen, 29, of Jefferson was sentenced Sept. 18 to one day in jail after she pleaded guilty to a charge of assault-simple, amended from domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury. She must pay sheriff’s fees for the time she serves. She was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge. She must also pay $60 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees and $216.50 court costs. Collin Daniel Richards, 20, of Bayard was sentenced to 60 days in jail after he pleaded guilty to a charge of domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury. All but two days of the jail sentence were suspended and Richards was placed on informal probation for one year. He must pay sheriff’s fees for the jail time he serves and complete a batterers education program at his own expense. He was fined $315 with a $110.25 surcharge, and he must pay one-half of his court appointed attorney’s $120 fee. Court costs were $60. (Sentencing: Kester)

Anthony Charles Kennedy, 33, of Jefferson was sentenced to two years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of eluding, and to 365 days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated-first offense. The prison term and jail time are to be served consecutively, but concurrent to a prison sentence in a 2014 Greene County case in which Kennedy pleaded guilty to a charge of assault on a peace officer. Kennedy was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge on the eluding charge; both were suspended. He was fined $1,250 with a $437.50 surcharge and a $10 DARE (drug abuse resistance education) surcharge on the OWI charge. He must pay restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees to be determined and $100 court costs. A magistrate case in which Kennedy was charged with interference with official acts was dismissed. (Sentencing: Kester)

Person pleaded not guilty at arraignments as follows: Shirley Ann Henry, 46, of Boone, possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana; Lance Michael Ross, 18, of Grand Junction, harboring a runaway; Albert John Wolfe, 23, of Glidden, OWI-second offense; and Richard Dean Stinson, 26, of Coon Rapids, impersonating a public official. Trial dates of Nov. 3 were set for Henry and Wolfe, and of Dec. 15 for Ross and Stinson.

A case was initiated in district court against Brad Allen Higgins, 46, of Lidderdale on a charge of driving while license revoked.
